About Dr. Vaillancourt.
Henry R. Vaillancourt MD MPH FAAFP has over 38 years of experience practicing medicine, during which time he has directed many programs, shared his knowledge and expertise through lectures, consulted for various public safety departments, businesses/industry, and served for 10 years in local government as a Director of Health & Human Services and a Director of Community Services.

Dr. Henry R. Vaillancourt received his MD degree from the University of Vermont, and completed a Family Practice Residency at Greenville Hospital Systems in South Carolina, after which time he obtained his board certification in Family Practice. He directed the Ambulatory Care Center and its Occupational Medicine program at Truesdale Clinic (now Truesdale Health) for over 30 years, and still remains an active member of Truesdale Health. During that period, he also served as School Physician and Medical Consultant to Bristol Community College for 38 years; where for four years he co-directed a state-funded multiple cardiovascular risk reduction program; he has presented numerous lecture series and authored a variety of medical newsletters.
Dr. Vaillancourt also directed Southcoast Hospital System’s Occupational Medicine & Employee Health programs for over 8 years. He also served as medical consultant to the Fall River Police and Fire Departments and many Southcoast area businesses. He was a panelist consultant to the Department of Energy’s "Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program" (EEOICP) from 2004 until the program ended. In addition, he was a Civil Surgeon for the Immigration & Naturalization Service for over 23 years, and also served as medical consultant for 22 years, to a Day Habilitation program which rendered therapeutic, enrichment, and medical services to a severely handicapped and challenged population.
He obtained his MPH degree with honors from the University of Massachusetts in 2008, where he concentrated on epidemiology, and then became employed from that time, until his recent retirement, as both Director of Health & Human Services and Director of Community Services for the City of Fall River, MA- where he oversaw multiple departments, managed multi-million dollar departmental budgets, and oversaw numerous grant programs.
Over the years Dr. Vaillancourt has lectured to numerous groups and prepared informational newsletters on a multitude of subjects ranging from Mind-Body Medicine, Relaxation Techniques, Hypnosis, Occupational Injuries, Bioterrorism, Harm Reduction, and Emerging Infectious Diseases.
